Make Your Own Glow Sticks

Yes it is actually possible for you to make your own glow sticks. This looks cool no? If you are not used at doing such mixtures i would recommend buying an already made glow stick online. Nevertheless if you want to know how to make a glowstick i will tell you.

The most difficult part is finding what matieral and chemical ingredients are needed. You will first need to purchase luminol, peroxide, distilled water, hydrogen peroxide, copper sulfate pentahydrate, and sodium carbonate. When reading this you might think my god whats all of this ... far too complicated for me. Well in fact once you have these ingredients it is rather simple.

1) Mix one liter of distilled water with hydrogen peroxide. I would recommend doing this in a container if possible! Then put it aside for the end.
2) Mix in a second container 4 grams of sodium carbonate with again a liter of water.
3) Add in this second container 0.4 grams of copper sulfate and finally 0.2 grams of luminol.
4) Once this is done mix container 1 with container 2. It should now normally glow!

Put it in a tube or in a necklace and you are finished! Not so complicated hey? But i would not recommend you doing it because the chemical mixture is dangerous to touche and manipulate. Also its probably cheaper buying an already made glowstick online...so...

I guess most of you have candles at home in case of a power cut or simply to use for christmas or for a special occasion? I can also say that the day you really need a candle, well its the day where you dont have any left! What about candles that could last forever?

If you dont want to buy candles regularly, then simply buy lightsticks candles! These glowstick tubes in form of candles last forever and give you the light you need when wanted! Also they exist in various colours and therefore give different types of light. You could therefore have one for romantic occasions, another for friends coming over, or some for simply seeing in the dark.

All in all, glowsticks are not only products that can be used in order to have fun during parties, they can also be very useful products in case of powercuts, or special occasions!

What are Glowsticks ? Have you ever heard of them? Maybe not. But what i am sure is that you have already seen them. You cannot miss them! A glowstick is also known as i lightstick. It is a transparent plastic tube which contains chemical fluids that when mixed together have a reaction and creates light as on the picture on the left.

This type of product exists in various forms such as sticks, necklaces, balls and create in all cases light. When punctured, some glowsticks can even be used as a pen to write messages that can only be seen in the dark. These product can only be used in the dark or you will not be able to see them. Glowsticks are generally used during parties at night as they are well adapted with their fluorescent color.

I assume that everyone has already used a glowstick in his life! These gadgets are really amusing especially for young people during parties!
